Musing Mondays #8

Musing Mondays is a meme hosted by Should be Reading.

This week’s musing asks…

If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop and look it up right away?

My answer:

Nope, never actually.  I gather my meaning with the remaining sentence and just go on.  Most rarely, I use Kindle dictionary. :)

Now, tell me you answer..I am waiting to hear your answers..

Monday Musings #6: Top 5 Books Every Woman Should Read

Monday Musings is a meme hosted by Should be Reading.

This week’s musing asks…

What do you think are the top 5 books every woman should read?

My answer:

1.  The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks

There are some things I missed doing..I understood the power of a family in this one.  My favorite from the author!

2.  Bossypants by Tina Fey

The best non-fiction book..EVER.  If you want to know about how much I love this book, read my review.  Highly highly recommended!

3.  My Fair Godmother by Janette Rallison

Every person should have some fun once in a while.  Have fun with this one!

4.  Dark Lover by J. R. Ward

This book is a different kind of 'fun', if you know what I mean.  If you think that this book is no BFD, then you should read this series and say that again.

5.  The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

One thing that every women must learn in her life is courage at the face of danger and difficulties.  Never met a better protagonist than this girl from The Hunger Games.

Like my books??  What's your answer? :-)

Monday Musings #5

Monday Musings is a meme hosted by Should be Reading.

This week’s musing asks…
• Do you read books that are part of a series?
• Do you collect all the books in the series before starting? What if the series is brand new, and the only book that’s been published so far is Book one? As subsequent books in the series are published, do you go back and re-read the preceding books?

My answer:

Most of what I read are series.  And no, I don't have the habit of collecting the entire books in the series before starting, unless the book is written by a trusted author and I loved the first book immensely.

If the series is brand new and only one book has been published so far, I will read the first book.  If I enjoyed it, I will definitely go back for the next book.  And re-reading the books are only for some special books like Harry Potter.. ;-)

What's your answer? :-)

Monday Musings #4

Monday Musings is a meme hosted by Should be Reading.

This week’s musing asks…

What is the last book that you learned something from? What book was it, and what did it teach you?

Well, mostly all technical books.  As I am not a lover of non-fiction, so I think that about closes it. :)  When I read fiction, its not for learning..its only for my fun and enjoyment.

You have books you have learnt from?

Monday Musings #3

This week’s musing asks…

What is your favorite romantic book –or book that includes a love story? (an adult romance, young adult, kids’ story, anything)

There are so many.  But when I think of romance, one of the best contemporary romance is Lucky Harbor series by Jill Shalvis.  In that, my favorite is The Sweetest Thing (Lucky Harbor #2).
I think many would agree on this.  Tara, one of my favorite heroines, is stubborn on the outside, but so scared and loving on the inside.  And Ford, Tara's summer love, is just enough to give any girl heart-ache.  The best book in the series so far.  I absolutely would recommend it all the romance lovers.

Musing Mondays #2

Hosted by Should Be Reading

This week’s musing asks…

Did you do any reading in lieu of watching the football game, yesterday, or were you foregoing reading to watch the game? If you read a book (or books) what did you choose?

My Answer:

I am not into football games..well, I accept that I have never tried to understand or appreciate it.  So, that left me with the only option - reading!

I read "Promising Light" (The Protectors #1) by Emily Ann Ward yesterday and completed 30% of it.  The book is engaging and about shape changers.  The soft romance is a killer.  I got this book for review purposes from the author.

So, what is your story about the weekend? :)

Musing Mondays #1

Hosted by Should Be Reading

This week’s musing asks…

How far along are you in your current read before you start thinking about what you’ll read next?

My Answer:

When the reading is interesting, engaging and/or enthralling and I have already chosen two to three books to read, I won't think about next read (But, my TBR pile keeps increasing, even at that time..I am not sure how ;-) ).  After I finish one or two from my currently-reading pile, I will start thinking what books should I buy and what can I start reading from my already-bought shelf.  Its fun to think those things..always fun..makes some of my favorite moments of my day. :)

So, do you have this habit too?
