Question:
Have you ever looked at book’s cover and thought, This is going to horrible? But, was instead pleasantly surprised? Show us the cover and tell us about the book.

Answer:

Yes, recently I read a book called "Pretty Flamingo" by Perry Martin.  Here is the cover of that novel.

When I looked at the cover, I didn't exactly think its horrible.  But,  I thought it might not be interesting enough for me.  When I finished this book, I was greatly surprised, that I mailed the author separately and told how I felt about this book.

This novel is a romance novel..and it caused such pain, loss and hope, that I felt mad.  It was about a beautiful love shared between two teens..they lose everything when they think they are the two happiest souls in the world.   It was heart-wrenching..the loss those kids had.  I never thought that I would list these type of romances as my favorites..but here I am, doing that.

So, you have any such book?

  1. Sounds like a very heart-wrenching read. The cover isn't bad, like you said, but it does lack something. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for following my blog/dropping by! I'm a new follower :)

  3. Oh man, that cover is terrible. I would definitely not even consider reading that book if the decision was based solely on the cover. Lol.

  5. Wow. Perhaps not completely horrible, but definitely thrown together haphazardly! I've not heard of this one, I may have to check it out. Happy Friday :)

  6. I agree with you that the cover just misses that special something that insists that I'll love the book even before I crack it open. It sounds like a really lovely tale. I'm not sure I'm in the mood for heartache right now, but one day when I am, I'll remember this book. Thanks!

  10. That cover is kind of weird. It sounds painful, so it's probably not for me, but I'm glad you loved it.

Thanks for stopping by my FF. Following you via Linky.

  11. I'm now wondering what the flamingo has to do with heart wrenching romance. Interesting.

Happy hopping and thanks for stopping by. Otherwhere.co

  12. Wow, that's such an interesting cover. I'd probably be drawn to it, for that reason alone, whether or not it had anything to do with the story the book was telling. Plus, I love these kind of romance stories, where there's more than just romance. So, fantastic pick. I'm definitely adding this to my tbr list. :)

  13. Well, huh. I'm partial to flamingos but wow. I see what they were going for but can't say I'm loving it either. I don't think I'd ever pick it up just going from the cover!

    Thanks for dropping by earlier!

  14. That cover is really unique in my experience, because it has lots of individual elements that could work, but they're totally jumbled together. Thanks for stopping by my post; new follower!
