First, a short introduction. Frequent Traveller is the first book in the Cathy Dixon series and offers a brief insight into her world as she juggles her two jobs as the Vice President of Corporate Communications and a spy for an elite agency known as CI-7.
Its setting is different from most books and some readers aren't so sure about this but I did not write this book to be loved. I wrote it the way I was compelled to write it.
The second book sees a further explanation of her spy organisation and her relationship with Thomas undergoes some drastic changes.
Now, for what happened behind the scenes - the good, the bad and the ugly.
In the midst of writing this book, my eyesight became really bad and I could barely look at a computer screen. The bad news for me is that I write my draft with pen and paper and then type it out. I could not do this for FT and for more than a month, my partner Peas helped me with this. He would come home from work, listen to me read and type it out for me. This was easier said than done as he is studying for his food and hospitality degree and had his own workload as well.
Peas second love, although sometimes I wonder who comes first.
The week FT was to be released, I was led on a new road on my publishing journey. I started to self-publish my work. I was petrified. I really wasn't sure it would work out. Now, more than 100,000 books later, I'm less petrified and more excited.
Of course, my FT journey wouldn't be complete with Nithesh from Dinet Media who does my paperback formatting and Jennie who proofreads and edits my work.
Dinesh, also from Dinet Media is working on another Cathy Dixon special but more on that in weeks to come.
Between hospital check-ups and bad vision, the book was written in two different countries - Kingsbury, London and Penang, Malaysia.

As the title indicates, the book covers 26 different destinations around the world some of which include USA, Scotland, Australia, Madagascar and China.

Other things that kept me sane while writing FT were my MP3 player (Snow Patrol, Stereophonics, James Blunt, Beatles and Taylor Swift), Vanilla tea and my favourite cereal.
